Shimano BR-M8220 XT 4 Pot Disc Brake Caliper

Shimano BR-M8220 XT 4 Pot Disc Brake Caliper delivers high power, control, and consistency through advanced 4-piston design and heat management. Built for precision and reliability, it combines lightweight materials with pro-level braking tech to meet the demands of aggressive trail and enduro riding.Key Features and Benefits:Dual-diameter 4-piston design: Uses two smaller leading pistons and two larger trailing pistons to balance braking force. This improves modulation and power, giving you smoother, more controlled braking under heavy loads.Opposed piston layout with optimal pad wear: Pads press evenly from both sides, reducing the leading effect and ensuring even wear. This increases braking control and extends pad life, which reduces maintenance.Forged two-piece caliper body: Combines a strong structure with reduced material. This design improves caliper rigidity while keeping weight low, which boosts handling response and efficiency.Anti-rattle pad design with oval pin hole: Wider pad backplates with a narrower, ovalised hole for the pad pin reduce movement and noise. This results in quieter operation and a more solid brake feel on rough terrain.Compatible with Ice Tech rotors and pads: Works with resin or sintered compound pads and rotors in various sizes. The optional aluminium finned pads improve heat dissipation, lowering rotor temperature by up to 50°C for better braking performance.One-way oil bleeding and low-viscosity fluid use: Simplifies maintenance and ensures consistent oil flow. Paired with Shimano's dedicated low-viscosity oil, it delivers reliable lever feel and stable braking in all conditions.Designed to meet the demands of riders who prioritise control and confidence in aggressive trail or enduro terrain, the BR-M8220 caliper brings together Shimano's most advanced braking technologies. The result is a caliper that delivers sustained power, minimal fade, and stable lever feel in all conditions. Engineered for dependable performance, this
